We’re looking for a Senior Content Manager to work at a strategic level, but also be ready to jump into the trenches and create high-impact content. Reporting to the Head of Content, you’ll assist with managing a small team and driving content across the entire company.

This includes product pages, technical documentation, email sequences, SEO content, microcopy, and ad campaigns. We need someone who can handle it all and accept that sometimes you just have to get things done fast with no fuss.

This role requires a mix of leadership, strategy, and hands-on execution. You’ll need to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives that engage both developers and non-technical users. Forget generic marketing fluff. We want someone who can create content that both informs and converts.

What you’ll be working on?

  • Partner with the Head of Content to enforce and refine Apify’s high content standards as we scale. You’ll assist with the content pipeline, creating and assigning tasks, reviewing drafts, and making sure deadlines are met.
  • Work closely with the rest of the marketing team and other Apify teams, with plenty of interaction with devs and senior stakeholders.
  • Craft and edit advertising copy, promotional materials, social media posts, newsletters, video scripts, email sequences, landing pages, product pages, and technical documentation.
  • Take ownership of long-term content projects, while staying flexible to tackle unexpected ad hoc tasks without dropping the ball.
  • Be ready to help Apify scale, reaching new audiences and markets far beyond where we are now.

They say there are no perfect candidates, but you might be the one if you have:

  • 7+ years in content marketing or a very related field.
  • You have experience leading a small content team, managing workflows, and providing editorial oversight.
  • Experience in a technical company or a startup is a plus. You don’t need to understand web scraping, AI agents, and automation before you start, but you’ll need to get up to speed very quickly. You’ll also need to collaborate with developers at all levels of the company, asking the right questions to get the information you need.
  • Comfortable making commits on GitHub and finding your way around codebases, with experience editing HTML, Markdown, JSON, and other structured formats.
  • Exceptional editing skills, with a sharp eye for typos and transgressions against the style guide. Even better if you’ve worked in an environment where you needed to polish copy at speed while maintaining standards.
  • Expertise in crafting clear content that explains complex technical ideas, and an ability to produce and polish anything that comes across your desk.
  • You understand the point of SEO, and you’re comfortable with GSC, Ahrefs, and similar tools.
  • Proven ability to use data to inform content strategy and make decisions - but you’ll also need to know when you have to make the right call under pressure and without all the facts.
  • You’ll need to manage multiple priorities at the same time and still find time to help others. Part of your role will be training and mentoring.
  • English at C2 level or a native speaker. We write for a US audience, so you’ll need to apply that filter to everything you edit and write.
  • Great interpersonal skills, with experience syncing with marketers, developers, and senior leaders. You’ll need to be a diplomat or a fixer, depending on what’s needed.

Note: We're very comfortable using AI to assist with our work, but we need someone who knows when to use it and when to start hitting the keys themselves. We're also experts at identifying LLM-generated copy.

By the end of the first 3 months, we expect you to:

  • Receive extensive onboarding to help you learn Apify’s culture, values, and how the various teams work together.
  • Learn about our tools, processes, and workflows to understand where you fit in. We use Notion, Slack, Trello, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and a wide range of other tools. Experience with any of these will help you fit in quickly.
  • Meet key stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Sales, Engineering, and other departments.
  • Get familiar with our product pages, technical documentation, SEO content, email campaigns, and microcopy throughout Apify Console.
  • Tackle a variety of editing and writing tasks to learn Apify’s style and expectations.
  • Start taking ownership of assigned parts of the content pipeline.
  • Review and approve copy from team members to maintain high content quality.
  • Work with the SEO Manager to optimize content across the website and Apify Store.
  • Give the Apify Console microcopy a complete makeover, reviewing and polishing every line to unify tone and messaging for a consistent user experience.
  • Complete a technical onboarding demo to become familiar with the Apify platform and Apify Actors.

By the end of the first 6 months, we expect you to:

  • Take full ownership of selected projects and tasks. You’ll handle planning, progress, and completion.
  • Become the go-to editor for mission-critical content before it goes live.
  • Begin actively mentoring team members, helping them refine their content skills, with a view to leading a small team of copywriters and editors as we grow.
  • Start owning and refining key content, with decreasing oversight.
  • Start independently managing content schedules, assignments, and review.
