Marketing Automation Specialist

Prague, Brno, Czech Republic

Marketing
Mid Level

Apify's mission is to make the web more programmable. Why? We believe that humans have better things to do than fill in forms, compile Excel sheets of copy-pasted data, or search social media for hashtags. Those are jobs for a machine.

Apify collects billions of rows of data from all over the world for sciencemarket research, or finding lost children. We make it possible for AI chatbots to interact intelligently, and we’re actively involved in developing novel ways to work with generative AI like ChatGPT.

To support our mission, we're looking for a talented Marketing Automation Specialist to help us with our GTM strategies to drive our email marketing and help us with our marketing workflows.

What you’ll be working on?

  • Own marketing automation and email marketing channel —design, implement, and optimize email campaigns that drive engagement and conversions.
  • Manage and refine lead nurturing workflows to support sales efforts and improve marketing-qualified lead (MQL) conversion rates.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure CRM data hygiene of your lists —maintain accurate customer records, manage segmentation, and refine targeting strategies.
  • Run A/B tests and optimize campaigns for better engagement, deliverability, and conversion rates.
  • Collaborate with other teams (Sales, RevOps, Marketing, PMMs) to align automation strategies with broader marketing initiatives.
  • Plan and execute webinars, handling everything from promotional campaigns and attendee workflows to follow-up emails and performance analysis.
  • Stay on top of industry trends and continuously improve automation strategies with innovative approaches and AI, i.e. using GPTs or AI Agents.
  • Prepare clear reports and presentations for internal stakeholders, helping to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Train and support junior team members in using automation tools and CRM best practices.

They say there are no perfect candidates, but you might be the one if:

  • You have 3–5 years of experience in marketing automation and email marketing, ideally in a B2B SaaS or tech startup environment.
  • You have a strong grasp of HubSpot, Intercom and other marketing automation tools, including setting up workflows, managing customer segments, and creating email sequences.
  • You are proficient in email marketing best practices, from warming up a new email domain, through inbox placement optimization and segmentation to A/B testing and performance tracking.
  • You are proficient in marketing workflows and 3rd party integrations—you can design, implement, and integrate workflows that enhance lead nurturing, onboarding, and customer engagement.
  • You are comfortable working with marketing data—you can analyze performance metrics, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • You can independently plan, execute, and optimize marketing automation campaigns, ensuring they align with broader marketing goals.
  • You have experience working cross-functionally with sales, product marketing, and content teams to support lead generation and nurturing strategies.
  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects at once while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • You stay up to date with the latest trends in marketing automation and email marketing and proactively apply best practices.
  • You know there is an infinite amount of work we could do, but you also know how to prioritize and execute on the most promising opportunities.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Any technical background and experience with web scraping is a big plus.

By the end of the first 3 months, we expect you to:

  • Understand our marketing automation stack (HubSpot, email marketing tools, workflows) and how it integrates with other marketing and sales processes.
  • Audit existing marketing workflows and automation setups, identifying inefficiencies and proposing optimizations - ideally using our own Actors.
  • Set up initial email marketing campaigns for lead generation, onboarding, and engagement, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Develop and refine customer segmentation strategies to improve personalization and campaign effectiveness.
  • Assist in organizing and executing at least two webinars, managing automation for registrations, reminders, and follow-ups.
  • Familiarize yourself with key marketing performance metrics and create the first round of reports on campaign performance, email engagement, and lead conversion.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including Sales, RevOps, Support, Growth, Product Marketing Managers, and of course rest of the Marketing team to ensure alignment on automation and lead management strategies.
  • Identify initial A/B testing opportunities in email marketing and automation workflows and propose experiments to improve performance.

By the end of the first 6 months, we expect you to:

  • Take full ownership of marketing automation and workflows, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Refine and expand marketing workflows, including lead nurturing, customer retention, and re-engagement sequences.
  • Successfully execute multiple email and automation campaigns, tracking key performance indicators and iterating based on insights.
  • Organize at least two webinars from start to finish, optimizing the attendee journey and follow-up strategy.
  • Provide actionable insights from marketing data, identifying trends and making data-driven recommendations for optimization.
  • Lead A/B testing initiatives, continuously improving email marketing effectiveness through data-backed experimentation.
  • Ensure CRM data hygiene and work on automation improvements that enhance sales and marketing alignment.
  • Proactively introduce new tools, techniques, or trends that could improve marketing automation efforts.
  • Document efficient workflows, campaigns and use-cases so we can share it in our own marketing and with our wider community.
