With that said, we're on the lookout for an enthusiastic product manager to join the Apify Store team. Your role will involve being the driving force behind our Actors, while also helping create an exceptional overall user experience and upgrading Apify Store

What you’ll be working on?

You'll own and shape the future of Apify-maintained Actors like Web Scraper, Cheerio Scraper, and Puppeteer Scraper. Your task will be to define Actor strategy, elevate user experience, and drive Actor innovation. You'll work collaborate closely with Apify’s talented Store Product Managers, and the Tooling and AI teams to:

• Drive the direction of a portfolio of Apify's core Actors, connecting user needs with technical development. You'll shape product vision alongside our development teams to solve real customer challenges.
• Regularly review GitHub and Apify Actor issues, prioritize fixes using a pragmatic 90/10 approach, and collaborate with other Actor PMs to keep things running smoothly.
• Connect with users through calls and feedback sessions to uncover challenges and spot opportunities to make our products better.
• Track Actor performance and trends using monitoring tools, then apply that data to guide improvements and optimize.
• Share your expertise in strategic discussions about Apify Store, helping shape product direction, marketing initiatives, and the developer experience.
• Safeguard platform integrity by preventing misuse and plagiarism of Actors.
• Keep an eye on competitors, track their new features, and find ways to stay ahead.
• Lead the roadmap for your Actors - prioritize key initiatives and guide feature development to deliver the most impact.

They say there are no perfect candidates, but you might be the one if you have:

• Product management experience – You’ve worked on products before, know how to prioritize features, and can collaborate with developers, designers, and stakeholders.
• Data-driven mindset – You’re comfortable working with metrics and using data to make decisions. Bonus if you have experience with SQL or BI tools.
• Technical skills – You can code (ideally in JavaScript/TypeScript/Python) and understand how software development works.
• Web scraping & development – You have hands-on experience with web scraping, APIs, or building web automation tools.
• GitHub savvy – You know your way around GitHub, whether it’s managing issues, reviewing PRs, or working with developers.
• Great communicator – You can explain technical topics clearly, write good documentation, and align teams on priorities.
• Self-starter – You take ownership, learn fast, and thrive in a fast-moving environment.
• Fluent English – Strong written and spoken communication.
• Availability – Full-time role with preference for weekly in-office meetups.

By the end of the 1st month, we expect you to:

• Familiarize yourself with the Apify platform and Apify Store, distinguishing between Apify-managed and community Actors.
• Onboard and acquaint yourself with various Apify teams, including Engineering, Delivery, Growth, Data, Marketing, and Sales.
• Initiate onboarding within your designated Actor group, gain an understanding of differences between them, use cases behind them, familiarize yourself with stakeholders and their respective teams.
• Acquire proficiency with essential Apify tools such as Apify Console, GitHub, ZenHub, etc.

By the end of the first 4 months, we expect you to:

• Onboarded into customer calls and take your first calls on your own.
• Get familiar with data metrics and concepts relevant to your Actors, monitoring them regularly and drawing insightful conclusions.
• Together with developers from your team, you will actively manage user issues with your Actors and gather valuable user insights.
• Collaborate in sprint planning for your Actor team in coordination with the Actor Lead Developer.
• Take an active role in Apify Store team meetings - bring your ideas and perspective to help shape our shared success.
• Together with the marketing, work on marketing strategy for your Actors.

From month 4 onwards, we expect you to:

• Own your Actors and steer them toward excellence - the vision, roadmap, and growth.
• Take charge of an additional area outside your Actor group, independently managing and pushing initiatives (collaboration with the Support Team, for example).
• Spot opportunities to make products better and turn those insights into concrete improvements.
• Keep growing! Commit to product learning and personal growth to keep pushing your skills forward in the role.
• Understand the competition for your Actors within Apify Store and among our competitors.
